Sri Venkateswara Swamy Kalyanam
The Kalyanotsavam of Lord Venkateswara and Goddess Padmavati, in the Tirupati tradition.
Sri Venkateswara Swamy Kalyanam
Modelled on the daily kalyanotsavam performed at Tirumala, Sri Venkateswara Swamy Kalyanam is frequently sponsored by families as an act of devotion, marking a birthday, anniversary, or the fulfilment of a vow made at the hill shrine.
We arrange the complete ceremony — priest, samagri, decoration and the sequence of wedding rites for Lord Venkateswara and Goddess Padmavati — either at home, in a hall, or at a local temple.
The kalyanam follows the Tirumala format closely: sankalpam, the ceremonial adornment of the deities, mangalya dharanam and the exchange of garlands, accompanied by the appropriate mantras. Many families also include the distribution of a keepsake sacred thread (kalyanam mala) to guests as a memento of having attended the ceremony.
What to expect
- Kalyanam rites performed in the Tirumala tradition
- Decoration suited to the scale of the sponsoring family's event
- Prasadam and a keepsake sacred thread (kalyanam mala) for participants, where customary
