Sri Venkateswara Swamy Kalyanam

The Kalyanotsavam of Lord Venkateswara and Goddess Padmavati, in the Tirupati tradition.

Scheduled on request, timed against the panchangam Approximately 3 hours
Overview

Sri Venkateswara Swamy Kalyanam

Modelled on the daily kalyanotsavam performed at Tirumala, Sri Venkateswara Swamy Kalyanam is frequently sponsored by families as an act of devotion, marking a birthday, anniversary, or the fulfilment of a vow made at the hill shrine.

We arrange the complete ceremony — priest, samagri, decoration and the sequence of wedding rites for Lord Venkateswara and Goddess Padmavati — either at home, in a hall, or at a local temple.

The kalyanam follows the Tirumala format closely: sankalpam, the ceremonial adornment of the deities, mangalya dharanam and the exchange of garlands, accompanied by the appropriate mantras. Many families also include the distribution of a keepsake sacred thread (kalyanam mala) to guests as a memento of having attended the ceremony.

What to expect

  • Kalyanam rites performed in the Tirumala tradition
  • Decoration suited to the scale of the sponsoring family's event
  • Prasadam and a keepsake sacred thread (kalyanam mala) for participants, where customary
