Overview

Sri Seetha Rama Swamy Kalyanam

Sri Seetha Rama Swamy Kalyanam is among the most widely celebrated kalyanams, traditionally held on Sri Rama Navami to mark the wedding of Sri Rama and Sita. Décor, the sequence of wedding rites, and the accompanying music all come together to recreate the ceremony in full.

We coordinate the priests, mandapam decoration and guest arrangements, whether this is being held as part of a temple's annual Rama Navami program or sponsored by a family on its own chosen date.

The kalyanam follows the traditional sequence — sankalpam, the arrival of the deities at the mandapam, mangalya dharanam and the ceremonial exchange of garlands, accompanied by Vedic chanting and, in many temples, nadaswaram music. The ceremony closes with maha mangalarati and prasadam distribution to everyone present.

What to expect

  • Mandapam and deity decoration ahead of the ceremony
  • The wedding rites performed in sequence, with accompanying chanting
  • Maha mangalarati closing the ceremony
  • Prasadam and seating arranged for however many guests are expected

Conducted by

Temple priests, following the established Rama Navami kalyanam tradition
