Sri Subramanya Swamy Kalyanam & Skanda Sashti
The kalyanam and Skanda Sashti observance for Lord Subramanya Swamy.
Sri Subramanya Swamy Kalyanam & Skanda Sashti
Lord Subramanya Swamy's kalyanam is closely tied to Skanda Sashti, the six-day observance commemorating his victory over Tarakasura, leading up to a concluding kalyanam-style celebration on the sixth day. Families sponsor either the full sashti observance or just the concluding kalyanam, depending on what they're able to commit to.
We arrange the priest, samagri and decoration for whichever scope you choose, and can coordinate the six-day sashti calendar if that's what your family or temple is observing.
Where the full sashti is observed, each day typically carries its own pooja, building up to the Soorasamharam re-enactment and the kalyanam itself on the sixth day. We plan the daily arrangements throughout, so the sequence runs consistently from the first day to the closing celebration.
What to expect
- Kalyanam rites for Lord Subramanya Swamy performed in sequence
- Option to coordinate the full six-day Sashti observance leading up to it
- Soorasamharam re-enactment arranged where the full sashti is observed
- Prasadam and decoration suited to the occasion
