Vasantha (Chaitra) Navarathrulu
The spring Navaratri, honouring the same nine forms of the Devi and closing with Sri Rama Navami.
Vasantha (Chaitra) Navarathrulu
Alongside the well-known autumn Navaratri, tradition also observes a spring Navaratri in Chaitra month, honouring the same nine forms of the Devi across nine days. What sets it apart is its conclusion: the ninth day is Sri Rama Navami, the birth of Lord Rama, often marked with a Seetharama Kalyanam.
We plan the same day-by-day Navadurga calendar as the autumn observance, building toward a Rama Navami celebration on the concluding day.
Each day follows the same nine-form sequence honoured in Sharada Navaratri, with pooja, archana and chanting suited to each form. On the ninth day, the observance transitions into the Rama Navami celebration, with the option of a full kalyanam ceremony for those wishing to mark the day more elaborately.
What to expect
- A nine-day pooja calendar honouring the same nine forms as Sharada Navaratri
- The concluding day planned around Sri Rama Navami celebrations
- Option to add a Seetharama Kalyanam on the ninth day
