Sri Rudrabhishekam
A sacred abhishekam to Lord Shiva accompanied by chanting of the Rudram.
Sri Rudrabhishekam
Sri Rudrabhishekam pairs abhishekam to the Shiva linga with the chanting of the Rudram and Chamakam, and is sought both for specific personal intentions and as a general act of devotion. It is especially popular on Mondays, Pradosham days, and during the Sivarathri season, when devotees come together to offer prayers to Lord Shiva with sincerity and devotion.
We arrange a priest confident in the chanting itself, along with the abhishekam materials — milk, honey, panchamritam and the other substances the ritual calls for. The sequence is prepared in advance so that each offering can be made at the appropriate stage of the abhishekam while the Vedic chanting continues without interruption.
The ceremony creates a calm and deeply devotional atmosphere as the Shiva linga is respectfully bathed and adorned with traditional offerings. Families may participate in the sankalpam by stating their prayer or intention, followed by the abhishekam and Rudra chanting conducted according to the chosen format.
